A Timeless Wedding with Lots of Romance | Annie + Kevin

Gold, blush and navy go together like, well, Annie and her new husband, Kevin. In short, they go together perfectly! When you peruse their pictures below, you’ll know exactly what we mean. These two are so sweet together that all else takes a back seat. All the beautiful flowers, bridesmaid dresses and, yes, even Annie’s divinely romantic, all-lace custom Lea-Ann Belter dress simply enhance the glow of joy that radiates from these two. Even their gorgeous venue, the Scottish Rite Cathedral in Indianapolis, doesn’t stand a chance!

The result is one incredibly romantic wedding with a genuinely happy vibe that will stay with you the whole day through.

How did your sweetie propose?

From Annie:
“It was the night before Thanksgiving and we were going to head up to his parents’ house to celebrate the holiday a night early. He texted to me to let me know he was outside to pick me up. As I came down the stairs and turned the corner, I saw Kevin approaching me dressed in a suit, which threw me for a loop, since I was planning on just hopping in the car! As he got closer he dropped to one knee and asked me to marry him. I of course said ‘yes’ and he then surprised me by having all of our close friends and family waiting at the local restaurant where we had our first date. It was the perfect evening!”

How did you choose your gown?

“I had an idea of what I wanted and tried on several dresses before going to M.H. Pomander’s. When I got to the store, they encouraged me to try on dresses that I wouldn’t have previously considered. I loved that Lea-Ann Belter was completely customizable and fell in love with a lace gown that I was able to add sleeves and covered buttons all the way down the train (the Penny dress!). The lace was so gorgeous and classic that I decided to get my cathedral-length custom veil from LAB as well!”

Tell us about your day! Did you have a theme or style in mind?

“We got married on October 22nd in downtown Indianapolis at the Scottish Rite Cathedral. Our colors were navy and gold and the flowers were a beautiful blush mix. The ballroom was transformed with a gorgeous canopy and lighting. Cocktail hour on the mezzanine was lovely and we had our first dance as guests watched from above.“

What’s your funniest wedding day memory?

“Our first dance cut off about 30 seconds in due to a technical glitch! Luckily, most people didn’t notice and we got to have our first dance twice. :)”

Five words that best describe your sweetie:

“Kevin is kind, intelligent, hilarious, conscientious and gregarious.”

Any advice for future brides/grooms?

“Hire a wedding planner! We used Christine at Boldly Chic Events and she was amazing. She helped us with all of our vendors and was invaluable on the day of the wedding. Beyond that, just enjoy the day and take time to visit with friends and family that have come to celebrate with you!”

Where did you go on your honeymoon?

“The Amalfi Coast in Italy. We had the best trip and can’t wait to go back. We miss the wine already!”
