How’s this for a romantic first date?
Making a blueberry pie together from blueberries you picked off your grandmother’s vine. That’s exactly how it went down the first time Chessica and Cameron hung out, although she didn’t plan it that way. When she told Cameron she was bringing over blueberries from her grandmother’s, he ran out and bought the ingredients for blueberry pie thinking she’d stay longer if they were baking.
Adorable, right? Cameron also bought Chessica her dream wedding dress, our Astrid & Mercedes Graceful gown, of which we are so honored. He’d never seen it but knew she wanted it, so…voila!
Needless to say, the love runs deep with these two!
P.S. The same vine from which they made that pie? Chessica and her grandmother used its fruit to make homemade blueberry jam wedding favors.
What was your favorite wedding day moment?
“Cameron and I followed the old wives’ tale of “Burying the Bourbon.” If you bury a nice bottle of bourbon upside down a month before the wedding on a nice day, supposedly you will have the same weather on your wedding day! So we did just that. The day of the wedding, the boys dug it up and the whole bridal party was able to take a shot of it! It also did bring us good weather (minus the little rain storm.) Cameron bought my wedding dress but didn’t see it until the day of. So the first look down the aisle was pretty special plus the few moments we had after the ceremony to just be together as newlyweds! Dancing the night away was also another favorite part! We loved hanging out with all our friends and family and making awesome life long memories.”
What was your Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed and Something Blue?
“My Grandmother’s heirloom pearls (she also hand-stitched my veil!), the wedding dress Cameron bought and surprised me with, my mother-in-law’s sapphire earrings, and the Steve Madden block heels my mother bought me.”
