You know that phrase “it takes a village”? Well, in Laura and Daniel’s case, it was a very glamorous wedding created by their really talented friends and family! Even their venue had a family connection – Laura grew up spending summers at her aunt and uncle’s beach house, which is just minutes from where they tied the knot at Alderbrook Resort. Presiding over it all was Laura’s sweet little Yorkie, Coco Chanel!
What makes this duo’s day so amazing isn’t just all the crazy gorgeousness or even the head-over-heels kind of love these two clearly share. It’s the sublime combination of those things plus an intangible glow that comes from every aspect of a day created straight from the heart.
“Lynn Wolfsheimer, a dear family friend, and Cindy Stephens, my cheerleading coach through high school, handled my flowers and décor. Lynn also made my jeweled belt and Cindy made my gorgeous garter belt! Both of their daughters, Jennifer Jones and Crislee Blume (both bridesmaids), were a huge help also! I have a major sweet tooth, so on top of having a cake, it was important to me to have every type of dessert possible- we had cupcakes, chocolate covered strawberries, cakepops, macaroons, and a TON of candy! Jen worked really hard on making my candy/dessert bar perfect for me!
I’ve known Denise Parker (of P.H. D’licious) since the 4th grade! It was SO special and meaningful to have friends that I’ve known almost all my life design and bake my wedding cake, which was inspired by my wedding dress!
Gianna DiMaggio, who did my make-up, has been one of my best friends for years and we are soon going to be sisters-in-law! She is marrying Daniel’s brother in February. Valencia Morales, who did my bridesmaids and family make-up, also did an amazing job.
My brother RJ Mitchell is a freelance graphic designer, and he created the logo which we put on everything (menu, program, gift bags, champagne labels, etc) and it was just perfect for our pink, sparkly, fairy tale wedding.“
As for her dress, Laura fell for our glittery, lacy Ruby at Lovely Bride San Francisco, which she told us made her feel so much like a princess she didn’t want to take it off…so much so that she’s thinking of having it made into a cocktail dress for a special anniversary!
