Though both Brielle and Alex went to University of Richmond and their paths crossed, they didn’t meet until after graduation. The two went on their first date at the beginning of Brielle’s third year at Richmond Law and have been inseparable ever since. Richmond being an important part of their history and in their hearts, Brielle and Alex chose one of its beautiful venues, the Mankin Mansion, in which to wed.
Brielle’s mom happens to be Marie, the designer and owner of Headpiece.com, so you know her headpiece and veil were not only fabulous but made with a lot of love. When shopping for a gown, Brielle and her mom’s search took them to Something Bleu Bridal, who also carries gorgeous veils, headpieces, and other accessories by Headpiece.com. With the help of Something Bleu’s owner, Denise, they tried Lea-Ann Belter and Astrid & Mercedes gowns and fell for gowns from both collections. Since NYC bridal week wasn’t too long after their appointment, Marie and Aubrey (Brielle’s MOH—Brielle couldn’t make it!) came to New York to meet Lea-Ann and see all her newest designs. After one more appointment at Something Bleu, Brielle knew she’d found the right dress—Valentine by Astrid & Mercedes, to which she added Lea-Ann’s Jaqueline jacket.
In addition to her custom headpiece and veil, there are all kinds of special made-by-mom elements throughout Brielle and Alex’s day, including a custom-made, hand-drawn dance floor. Combined with an overall timeless, romantic style, the whole celebration was a beautiful reflection of the couple’s love story (get the scoop about both on Headpiece.com’s blog)!
