This art- and fun-loving couple were married here in Toronto at the Gardiner Museum. The gallery has a gorgeous collection of ceramic art, and this beautifully unique scene was totally in sync with Christina and Alberto’s own creative style. Although who could look at the art when these two exude so much joy in being together?
Read on to learn how Christina handled red wine (YES. RED WINE.) being accidentally spilled all over her dress, how she found her tea-length Astrid & Mercedes Joy gown in the first place, and more!
How did your sweetie propose?

How did you choose your gown?
“I knew I wanted to wear a tea-length wedding dress with clean lines and light material. I initially chose a very different style (a strapless gown), and then changed my mind! I worked with the amazing team at Lea-Ann Belter to find a different style that I was much more comfortable wearing, while still capturing my initial ideas. The team at Lea-Ann Belter was receptive, creative, and thoughtful at every turn, and delivered a dress that was more perfect than anything I could have imagined at the outset!”
Tell us about your day! Did you have a theme or style in mind?
“We did not have an exact theme in mind. When we chose our reception venue (the Gardiner Museum), we thought the museum’s architecture and ceramics collection would be a theme in itself. We absolutely love art, and we were excited to celebrate in a place that is very special to us.”
What’s your funniest wedding day memory?
“We had a receiving line while guests transitioned from the cocktail portion of our reception to the dinner. While greeting a guest in line, her glass of red wine spilled almost all over my dress (from top to bottom!). I was immediately whisked away to a little storage room behind the bar where my mom, my wedding planner and a bartender began dousing me with sparkling water, white wine, and a Tide pen—anything to neutralize the stains! All of these efforts helped, and the red stains became a light blush pink before I knew it! The night carried on, the lighting was dim, and I continued to have the best time. It is definitely the most funny memory—in retrospect, of course!”
What was your favorite wedding day moment?
“It’s so hard to pick just one (so I will pick two!). I absolutely loved the ceremony, but I also had so much fun during our first dance!”
Where did you go on your honeymoon?
“We’re going to Hawaii in the new year!”
