If summer were a wedding, it would be just like Katie and Ryan’s.
Inspired by the 4th of July as well as time spent together at music festivals and camping, their celebration distilled all the playful, laid-back deliciousness of the season and packed it into one epic day.
Held at Ryan’s parents’ home in Warwick, New York, their celebration was filled with wonderful DIY details (all those cupcakes and pies! That amazing twinkle-light chandelier!) crafted with love by friends and family. Even their sweet dog Betty joined our happy couple down the aisle.
“We were married in my in-laws backyard in Warwick NY and invited many of our friends to camp with us after right there on the property. The lean-to that is in some of the pictures was built by my husband and his father. The day was so relaxing and fun, everything we both wanted! Our good friend Julie and her sister Amanda made the pies and cupcakes, my husband’s brother made the chandelier for us out of sticks he found in the woods the day before. My engagement ring was passed down from Ryan’s paternal grandfather, then it was his mother’s and now it’s mine.”
When searching for The Dress, a bit of luck led our beautiful bride to Something Bleu on the same day Lea-Ann herself was there for a trunk show.
“I knew I wanted a dress that showed off my figure and I loved the flower and feather details of this one! This dress isn’t how I first saw it though, in the store Something Bleu Bridal, in Saratoga, they only had the evening gown in red for me to try on. I fell in love with it immediately. I loved the fit and when I saw all the details on the bridal gown I knew I had to have it. I was able to meet Lea Ann too, and she made me feel so special!”
Thank you so much for sharing your day with us, and have an amazing time on your California honeymoon!
