Nautical Destination Wedding | Rebecca + Paulo

You know those recurring dreams you have about a gorgeous destination beach wedding? Then, lady, you’re going to want to stop what you’re doing, grab some coconut water and read all about Rebecca and Paulo’s. These two love to travel (even Paulo’s proposal took place abroad), so of course their wedding had to be someplace warm and wonderful. Which, TBH, is exactly like this darling couple themselves.

You’ll find out more about how Rebecca found the destination wedding dress of her dreams, but we just have to add that our lovely bride absolutely glowed in her Delphine.

From Rebecca:

“We had both lived in Charlotte, NC for about 2 years (within blocks of each other!) when our mutual friend introduced us. My best friend’s fiancé at the time, now husband, worked with Paulo and was telling him about his fiancé. Paulo agreed that she sounded awesome and asked if she had a friend. The texting for the set-up started then and we met the next night!

Fast forward almost four years to April 2, 2015 to our vacation in Curaçao. He planned a private sunset dinner on the beach and proposed!

Neither of us had any preconceived ideas of what we wanted for our wedding. We love to travel, as do our family and friends, so we started researching a destination wedding. We love the beach, but wanted a traditional wedding. We found photos by del Sol Photography of Our Lady of Guadalupe Chapel in Cancun. A church on the beach! It was the best of both worlds for us!

Once I knew the venue, the hunt for the perfect dress was on. With it being a church wedding and a beach wedding at the same time, I thought it would be challenging. Ladies of Lineage Bridal Boutique in Charlotte was the first place I went to get Natasha’s advice. She immediately picked out Candice as one of the first dresses I tried on. I loved the silhouette! I went home and researched the Lea-Ann Belter collection and loved several of her dresses. Lucky for me, there was a trunk show two weeks later! That’s when I fell in love with Delphine. The silhouette that I loved with the silk organza that would be perfect in the ocean breeze!

We went with a nautical theme and had almost everything custom made including my veil made by my sister. We had over 100 guests from 18 states in the US and 4 countries. Our wedding was beyond our wildest dreams – so much more than we could have ever imagined!”
