“Trust your gut and you will have a magical day.”
That right there is some on-point wedding planning advice, thanks to our real bride Elizabeth, whose beautiful day you’re about to dive into below! Though that tip was about choosing a wedding party (our girl had nine gorgeous bridesmaids), it absolutely applies to every aspect of her wedding, from choosing her dress to picking their venue, photographer and everything else. Clearly, Elizabeth followed her own instincts, because the wedding she and Kevin imagined – elegant yet relaxed and with lots of love and laughter – clearly came to be.
How did Kevin propose?
“He proposed at the Indianapolis Museum of Art with our parents spying nearby. It was unexpected and wonderful.”
How did you choose your gown?
“I tried on a few different dresses, but once I tried on this one, I knew! It was originally a full skirt with just mesh overlay (no lace), but I wanted the lace to crawl up the mesh. So M.H. Pomander’s relayed that to Lea-Ann and she delivered!!! It was amazing to try on the customized one for the first time.”
Tell us about day! Did you have a theme or style in mind?
“Our day was perfect. Tons of family and friends. A fantastic band. Yummy food. I wanted it to be elegant but relaxed. I wanted to feel like someone had hosted it in their own home. I didn’t want it to feel stuffy at all. Lots of love and laughter all around.”
Five words that best describe Kevin:
“My husband is loyal, sincere, warm, loving, and thoughtful. He treats his parents like royalty. He has adopted my friends and family as his own. I knew that he would treat me and our (future) kids with genuine love and kindness for life.”
Do you have any advice for future brides/grooms?
“Pick your wedding party based on who you want to spend your wedding day with! The day flies by, and I got some flack about picking a large group of bridesmaids, but I was SO happy to spend all morning and afternoon with those ladies. Trust your gut and you will have a magical day.”
