It’s important to have fun on your wedding day. Sure, committing to someone for life is a very big step, and certainly when dressed up we’re inspired to be polite. But if the desire to leap into that gorgeous pool while wearing all your finery strikes, go for it.
Allie and John took the plunge – literally and figuratively – on St. Simons Island, and were thrilled every minute. Especially by the married and the pool parts (our saucy bride jumped right in wearing her wedding dress!). One peek at their pictures and it’s clear these two are in love and like to have a good time!
Take in their story – and that epic wedding day dive – below!
How did John propose?
“We were at the Biltmore in Asheville, NC for New Year’s Eve and outside looking at stars and John said, “Look baby…” So I turned around and looked down to see him on one knee. I said Yes!!!”
How did you choose your gown?
“The White Magnolia was the first appointment I had and I knew I wanted an A-line sweetheart and layered look on the bottom. It was the 4th or so one I tried on – it was the one. “
Tell us a little about your day! Did you have a theme or style in mind?
“No real theme to our wedding – I knew I wanted to be on the water and our planner put it together so well. I wanted blush pink, ivory and lavender in my colors. My girls all wore black and a dress of their choice. Just nude shoes. “
What’s your funniest wedding day memory?
“Funniest memory was jumping in the pool after the party was over. Don’t regret it.”
Five words that best describe John:
“Loyal, selfless, hilarious, kind and giving.”
Where did you go on your honeymoon?
“Planning our honeymoon as we speak to Playa Mujeres in Mexico.”
Any advice for future brides/grooms?
“Take a later honeymoon. Let the party keep going! This way it gives you something to look forward to so you’re not as blue when it all calms down!”
