If you could distill down summer into a wedding day, it would be this one.
Meggie and Andrew’s wedding day at the Glen View Club was all joy, flowers, and sweet sunlight. Plus, the attire was so on point for the season, you guys. Meggie wore Giselle, a floaty, lacy gown whose plunging back and ethereal vibe harmonized perfectly with the Lilly Pulitzer bridesmaid dresses and her groom’s navy suit. This couple’s infectious smiles were icing on one beautiful cake!
How did your sweetie propose?
We were on vacation in Hawaii last July! He’d told me a couple months in advance we weren’t getting engaged on our trip, and wanted me to know in advance so I wouldn’t get my hopes up – but then the night before we left, I saw a note on his calendar that said “pack ring”! It was a very quiet and private moment on the beach, early in the morning.
How did you choose your gown?
I went to Bella Bleu Bridal – a shop in my hometown, just a five-minute walk from the house I grew up in – for my first appointment. I went in thinking I did not want a strapless dress, but when I tried on the Lea-Ann Belter Giselle dress, I just felt so happy and comfortable that we bought it and I canceled appointments I had set up at other bridal shops!
Tell us a little about your day! Did you have a theme or style in mind?
We wanted the day to be fun and happy. I love Lilly Pulitzer and had always dreamed of having my bridesmaids wear Lilly sundresses, and Andrew didn’t want to wear a tux or anything like that, so he and his groomsmen wore navy suits with Vineyard Vines ties – I think it ended up looking summery, festive, and preppy.
Where did you go on your honeymoon?
Africa! We went on safari for 8 days, and then to the coast in Zanzibar for 4 nights. Definitely a once-in-a-lifetime experience!
