We’re so lucky to have our bridal boutique! Without it, we’d never meet all our wonderful Toronto brides like Nicole, who married in the Distillery District, which just happens to be one of our favorite parts of the city.
Intimate and romantic, her day had all kinds of charm (two of Nicole’s students played the instrumental during their ceremony!), and we’re utterly thrilled to have been a part of it!
“Our wedding day was lovely! The ladies spent a relaxing morning at Graham and my house getting our hair and make-up done, while the boys got ready at Graham’s brother’s house. Julia, from Kirsch Cosmetics, did amazing make-up for two of my sisters weddings, so going with her was a no-brainer. Ian Setiawan, my hair-stylist, created stunning up-dos and curls for all the ladies. Our flowers were created by Amber at Cool, Green & Shady, and were perfectly beautiful.
We were incredibly lucky to have absolutely gorgeous weather on our wedding day. Graham and I decided to do a first-look as we were having an evening ceremony. Surprisingly, I wasn’t nervous or teary the whole day – which was a shock to everyone, as I am known to be emotional. On June 20th, I was just so excited. I was marrying my best friend, a wonderful man, and I was ecstatic to become his wife.
The rest of the evening was awesome. I am a teacher-librarian and asked two of my grade 12 students to provide instrumental music for our ceremony – which was lovely. Our officiant, Daniel Brereton, performed a beautiful and meaningful ceremony. We asked my brother-in-law, Ryan, do a reading from the children’s book “An Awesome Book of Love” by Dallas Clayton (which later served as our guest book). The speeches were thoughtful and funny and our incredibly talented DJ, JClass, kept people on the dance floor the whole night.
Throughout the entire day, our amazing photographer-duo, Irina and Mihkel Fortey, captured all of our special moments. Graham and I are so thankful for everyone who helped make our wedding a memorable day.”
But, before that oh-so-romantic, unforgettable day took place, Nicole’s search for The Dress began (and ended) in our Toronto boutique!
“Lea-Ann Belter was the first store I went to for my bridal grown and I didn’t have to go any further! I went to my appointment with my three sisters (also bridesmaids) and my mom. As we sipped champagne, Robert (my original consultant) encouraged us to browse the dresses and select a few for me to try on. It was so intimate at the salon being the only bride trying on dresses.
Originally I wanted to avoid strapless and leaned more towards an illusion neckline. My sister, Jacqueline, spotted the Glamour dress and I agreed that I absolutely had to try it on. It was just too gorgeous not to; with the sweetheart neckline, stunning lace and unique details – it was so romantic.
I’ve heard that you know you’ve found the right dress when you don’t want to take it off. This was the case for me. I loved the inverted pleats on the bodice and the way they gathered together; I loved the intricate belt that added just the right amount of sparkle; and I loved the drop waist layering of lace. Another important factor for me was being comfortable in my dress and being able to move around without a bulky gown weighing me down. This was the dress! It also helped that the name of the dress was GLAMOUR!
The rest of the process was a breeze. The staff at Lea-Ann Belter were amazing, making sure this dress fit me perfectly.“
We’re over the moon that you loved your A&M gown and experience, Nicole! Best wishes! xo
