West Palm Beach is actually on an island. Getting to it means you cross a long bridge that rises, ribbon-like, over the glittering Intercoastal before depositing you on palm-tree-lined streets. Then there’s Worth Avenue, packed with charming boutiques, restaurants and shaded, fountain-filled walkways.
The setting was perfect for Emily and Kevin’s intimate wedding! These two wed in a beautiful old church, then breezed back to Café Boulud at the Brazilian Court Hotel to celebrate in low-key glamorous style.
How did your sweetie propose?
“It is not out of the ordinary for Kevin to plan romantic surprises, but this time I was completely surprised!
We were in Las Vegas and on our way out to a dinner reservation at one of our favourite restaurants, but at the very last minute, Kevin says that the plans have changed. Little did I know, Kevin had organized what I thought was just a romantic dinner at the top of the Eiffel Tower in the Paris Hotel. We had a beautiful table at the window overlooking the Strip and the Bellagio fountains. As we marvelled at the beautiful fountain show across our way, the dessert came out and the server lifted the cover to unveil a very special treat – it was all timed perfectly.
The first thing I saw was the plate covered in rose petals with chocolate that spelled out ‘Will you marry me?’ The second thing I saw was a mini Eiffel Tower with a gorgeous sparkling diamond ring on top. As I turned to Kevin, he was already down on one knee asking for my hand in marriage. A pre-organized photographer captured the moment so we always have those photos to look back on.“
