Each of our brides is unique, and we love to see them come into their own and discover their style during an appointment.” This is from Elliot + Olivia owner Bailey Puddister, whose shop in North Bay, Ontario is a sanctuary for area brides. Situated in a loft space into which light spills from all sides, Elliot + Olivia’s beauty is only rivaled by the warm, welcoming atmosphere Bailey has created! Appointments are 1.5-hours long, allowing a customer to take her time twirling in the gowns she loves. Speaking of frocks, true to her word, Bailey has curated a selection covering everything from ethereal, bohemian, and simple to modern, understated, and classic.
Much like our Astrid & Mercedes line, Elliot + Olivia is named after very special people in Bailey’s life: her younger brother, Joey Elliot, and her younger sister, Charley Olivia.
Like so many small businesses, Eliott + Olivia Bridal has temporarily hit pause on opening its doors every day to help keep its community safe.
What are you doing with your time away from the shop?
“Taking the opportunity to slow down, which allows for time to be creative, to spend quality time with my boyfriend Max and our sweet dog Ari. Going for long walks, reading lots, baking lots, eating lots. Organizing the shop and looking into different collections. And most importantly, dreaming about the future!!… which I think is most important to do during this time of uncertainty. “
What is this time making you value the most?
“Being able to be more intentional and to spend time with loved ones (even if just over facetime!).”
What is your personal favorite Astrid & Mercedes gown?
“Joy—Joy is such a classic. We don’t carry a lot in the form of a true classic wedding gown, but Joy definitely hits the mark. The dupioni silk is gorgeous, and the fit is so flattering with a hint of modern, which adds personality to the gown itself.”
