These two happy stars clearly sparkle wherever they go, but they did especially on their wedding day. Steph and Jeff married in free-spirited fashion outdoors in a lovely garden, then danced up a storm indoors all at Auberge des Gallant.
Like their Italian engagement, there was romance and beauty in spades…especially from our bride, who donned her Lea-Ann Belter Rosemary gown and a pretty flower crown for the day. But finding that dress? It was a journey, but so, so, so well worth the wait!
How did your sweetie propose?
“We were in Positano, Italy on vacation. He made us a reservation at a restaurant that had a private balcony overlooking the Amalfi Coast. After we finished dinner and we were looking out at the sea, he popped the question and timed it with fireworks that were happening that night. It was magical!”
How did you choose your gown?
“It wasn’t easy. I’d been watching the show ‘Say Yes to the Dress’ for years and wanted that special feeling when you know you’ve found the one. It was finally at the 9th store I visited, and after trying on about 100 dresses, that it happened! It was the last gown I put on, after that I never wanted to try on another one. I wanted to have “that” feeling so badly, and was starting to worry that it would never happen, but it did, complete with tears and everything! It wasn’t the style I thought I wanted, but I’m so happy I decided to try on this dress. It was everything I was looking for and more! When I look at the pictures I can’t help thinking, this is the perfect dress for me. I love it! It had so many special details and that is what I was looking for. My absolute favorite part of the dress is the off the shoulder delicate floral straps.”
Tell me a little about your day! Did you have a theme or style in mind?
“We wanted it to be laid back and fun, and overall just a great party. Our theme was a rustic chic garden wedding. We also wanted it to have a bit of a vintage feel with antique tea cups and vintage-looking picture frames. We had the ceremony in a garden outdoors by a gazebo, and the cocktail hour outdoors under an open tent. The reception room had a high ceiling with wood beam accents and white round lanterns hanging from it. ”
What’s your funniest wedding day memory?
“One of the funniest memories for me was when we were doing our 1st look before the ceremony. I tapped my husband-to-be on the shoulder so he would turn around and look at me, and he said, “Who is it?” That made me laugh so much, and the photographers and videographers laugh as well.”
Describe your wedding day in 5 words or less:
“Fun, love, special, magical, perfect.”
Three words that best describe your significant other:
“Funny, Outgoing, Creative.”
Any advice for future brides/grooms?
“If you can afford to have a wedding planner, get one! We didn’t think that we needed one, but it was a lot of work coordinating everything, and buying/making some of the decorations.
Finish everything up a few days before and try to relax and rest up the night before. Just try to soak it all in and enjoy yourself. You have done all you can, and just go with the flow.
Also, if you plan on going on a honeymoon, leave a day or two after the wedding, when you are still on a wedding high. We left about 2 weeks after and it felt like sooooo long! It was hard to just go back to work so soon after the wedding, when you were so excited.”
Where did you go on your honeymoon?
“We went to a few different islands in Greece; Athens, Paros, Mykonos, Santorini, and Crete for a total of 19 nights.”
