Goodness, Paris and Jake’s celebration was gorgeous.

These two put together a modern Greek wedding whose combination of chic simplicity and romance left us breathless. Our stylish bride wore her hair in a long, low ponytail, her Madeleine wedding gown and the prettiest bangles you’ve ever seen. Fierce, right?

If you haven’t been to a Greek Orthodox wedding ceremony, know this – everything is done in threes. The couple circles the altar three times, the priest blesses them three times while switching the stefana (Greek wedding crowns) three times…you get the picture. It’s a beautiful ceremony, and the stefana have particular significance because, among other things, they symbolize that the bride and groom are king and queen of their newly created family.

Anyway, we tell you all this because Paris and Jake’s stefana made of fresh laurel were just so…lovely. As was the rest of their day below!

How did your sweetie propose?

“He took me out to dinner and proposed when we got home. Simple and sweet.
It was a smart move, I’m a crier. This way I didn’t sob into my dessert.”

How did you choose your gown?

“I saw it in the window at Lea-Ann Belter’s flagship store, and knew it was the one. No other dress I tried on after it compared.”

Can you tell me a little about your day? Did you have a theme or style in mind?

“No theme or style in mind – it was pretty eclectic. Just chose dresses, centerpieces, colours, etc. that we both liked.”

What’s your funniest wedding day memory?

“Some great speeches by our MC and parents.”

Five words that best describe Jake:

“Intelligent, funny, handsome, thoughtful, easy-going.”

Where did you go on your honeymoon?

“Greece and Italy. It was a great trip – made lots of new memories together.”
