Intimate Garden Wedding at the Arlington Inn | Caitie + Sean

A pretty garden wedding will always receive a resounding “Yassss!” from all of us at LABB. So, when a snap of Caitie surrounded by greenery and looking like a queen in in her Judith gown popped up on Instagram, we had to see more. Luckily, our lovely bride was happy to comply and fill us in on her gorgeous, intimate wedding in Vermont at the Arlington Inn.

Before you read on, know this – despite all the sun, Caitie reports that it absolutely poured during the reception, but that didn’t stop this happy duo from partying on!

How did you choose your gown?

“I went to a Lea-Ann Belter trunk show at Something Bleu Bridal in Saratoga, NY. I had looked at the gowns online so I had a few in mind to try on. While we were walking around the store, I noticed the dress on a mannequin and it was just so stunning that I had to ask about it. It wasn’t one I had seen online so I wasn’t even sure it was a Lea-Ann Belter. I was surprised to find out that it was and that it was so new they didn’t even know the price. Obviously I had a budget in mind so that concerned me a little…but I couldn’t resist trying it on anyway. I watch a lot of “Say Yes to the Dress,” so I was well aware that trying it on could be a bad idea but I absolutely had to and once it was on there was no way I could say no.”

Tell us about your day! Did you have a theme or style in mind?

“It was a very intimate wedding with only 65 guests. I wanted it to be informal and stress-free so we didn’t do any speeches or formal dances. It was like going to a family party but 100x more beautiful. I was going for a country garden party kind of theme and I have to say the venue as well as their staff made it incredibly easy to pull off.”

What’s your funniest wedding day memory?

“It may not look like it based on the pictures but it rained pretty heavily during the reception. At one point, the tent spilled water all over my brother and he ended up sitting there holding an umbrella while eating his dinner (until the walls went up). It sounds horrible but I promise he was laughing the entire time.”

Any advice for future brides/grooms?

“Try not to sweat the little things. Ultimately the day is about the two of you starting your life together. No one is going to care if their table settings don’t look exactly like that Pinterest picture you were trying to imitate (or if it rains).”

Where did you go on your honeymoon?

“The Sagamore Resort in Lake George, NY.”
