We’re just going to say it: Charleston, SC is arguably the most romantic city in the south. The beautiful, historic homes. The waters of the Ashley River glittering at the end of just about every cobblestone street. The way the air wraps warm and sweet around your shoulders. The city practically invites you in and offers you a cool drink and a spot to sit. It’s the perfect place for an unforgettable, intimate wedding, which exactly describes the celebration of our wonderful bride Lori and her dashing groom, Powell.

From Lori:

“Powell and I were married in a gorgeous garden on One Green Street and our reception was at The Mills House (a fabulous hotel in Charleston!). We chose to have a small wedding with just immediate family but our reception was full of extended family and friends, it was a true celebration!

My daughter (who recently married September 2015!) and I were wedding dress shopping and visited Traditions by Anna located in North Hills, Raleigh. There was a trunk show going on which turned out great for us! Because there we found the creation of my dress. I knew I wanted a tea length dress with a bit of a sleeve, given the fact I was an “older” bride…(ha) THE dress I tried on was strapless and full length. It was a stunning lace, traditional fit.

Lucky for me, Lea-Ann was actually at the bridal shop and she suggested adding a lace jacket to be sewn in to create the sleeve effect and lacy covered back. She agreed to cut off the length to create the tea length hem. During the whole process, I realized what an artist she really is. In fact, during my alteration session with Marie Cordella Design (a FABULOUS seamstress in Raleigh, NC) there was hardly anything to do! Which made this nervous bride completely at ease! Needless to say, I received many compliments on my dress!! The fact that I could make the dress a “one of kind” was so much fun!”
