If you’d like a spectacular wedding day backdrop, may we suggest Colorado? Because it’s hard not to fall in love with the mountain views at Morgan and Aric’s celebration! These two exchanged vows outside of Denver at North Star Gatherings. While we’re making much of those mountains (wait ‘til you see where they had their first look!), it’s the delight and joy beaming from Morgan and Aric that totally steal the show.
Though they dated in high school, it wasn’t until a chance meeting after college that they reconnected. After their first date a week later, they knew they’d stumbled across something special, and the rest is history!

How did you and Aric meet?
“We met in high school, where we dated for a year. When college came around, we went our separate ways pursuing our sports (soccer for me, football for him). However, we kept in touch throughout the years as friends. In May of 2019, we ran into each other at a brewery for the first time in years. We instantly reconnected when on a date the next week and have been together since.”

How did you guys get engaged?
“Aric and I took a hot air balloon ride early one morning. We happened to know the hot air balloon company owner, so Aric told me he ran into him at the brewery and mentioned that we would love to go sometime. It just so happened that he had two spots open the following week (or so I thought). Aric had it planned for a while, we went up in the hot air balloon, and he proposed near the end of the ride. Our families were waiting in the field when we landed, and we were able to have a nice little celebration.”
How did you choose your gown?
“I have followed Lea-Ann Belter on Instagram for years. I have always loved the style of gowns here and was drawn to A-line with a more vintage feel. Unfortunately, there is not a store near me where I could try on some of these gowns I had been looking at, and I could not travel due to covid restrictions. However, I was able to find a store in Colorado Springs that carries the Astrid and Mercedes line, so I reached out to Felice Bridal and Lea-Ann Belter to see if there was any way I could have a few dresses shipped there to try on! I felt so lucky to be able to see some of my favorite gowns in person. Ultimately, I tried on Destiny and fell in love. It was so perfect. I added some custom button detailing down the back and picked out a vial with the same lace as the top of my dress.”
What was your first dance song?
“‘From This Moment On/You’re Still the One’ by Caleb and Kelsey.”
Where do you go on your honeymoon?
“We took a minimoon to Palisade, CO, to tour the wineries. There, we stayed at a quaint Bed and Breakfast and took a horse-drawn carriage winery tasting tour! Our full honeymoon is scheduled for December this year, and we are headed to Rome, Amalfi Coast, and Paris.”
