How’s this for an adorable how-we-met? Alex and Kevin are both lawyers and first laid eyes on one another at the courthouse. So on their wedding day, they stopped at the scene where it all began for a photo op. This darling duo also have a sweet pupper, Noche, who is a huge part of their family. And of course, they dropped in at their house for a few shots!
After celebrating the night away, these legal lovebirds jetted off to the beach town of Marbella, Spain for some romantic R&R, which sounds amazing as things get progressively wintry here in Toronto!
From Alex:
How did you choose your gown?
“I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted: I knew I wanted strapless, with a sweetheart neckline, and I definitely wanted lace. When I came in to try on dresses, I ended up finding exactly what I wanted in two different gowns: the top of one was silk with sweetheart neckline, but the skirt that I wanted (lace, and a bit fuller) was part of another dress. Vanessa was super accommodating and we ended up combining the dresses to get exactly what I was looking for.”

Tell us about your day! Did you have a theme or style in mind?
“We did not really have a style in mind, but we tried to work in a lot of personal touches throughout the day. We had family and friends participate in the wedding ceremony and reception (singing, reading, etc.). We are both lawyers, so we managed to get into the courthouse (which is where we met) on the day of the wedding to get some pictures. We also stopped off at our house to get some pictures with our puppy, Noche. Most of the pictures were at Gage Park, which is very close to our house.”
What was your first dance song?
“Our first dance song was “Who I am With You” by Chris Young.”
What was your something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue?
“Something old: I wore a pearl necklace and earrings that were given to me by my step-grandfather. They were passed down through his family.
Something new: My husband gave me a beautiful bracelet the morning of our wedding.
Something borrowed: I borrowed my Nonno’s handkerchief from my aunt to use as the band around my bouquet. My Nonno was really happy for us when we told him we were engaged, but passed away before the wedding.
Something blue: My aunt sewed a blue button onto my garter.”
Where did you go on your honeymoon?
“We went to Marbella, Spain (a beautiful little beach town).”
Any advice for future brides/grooms?
“Everyone says it, but really try to take a step back to enjoy the day. It is such a whirlwind.”
