Natural, Elegant Wedding at Barn 1906 | Megan + Warren

‘Tis the season for proposals…and there is so much tenderness in Warren and Megan’s we guarantee you’ll get a case of the feels!

Our sweet bride filled us in on the details: “Warren proposed almost 4 years exactly to the day of our first date. It was Christmas time and he ended up proposing at home by the Christmas tree. He talked about how he wanted to grow old together at the cottage and then got down on one knee. It was perfect.”

He talked about how he wanted to grow old together, you guys! Right in front of the Christmas tree all aglow with twinkle lights and smelling heavenly! (Happy Engage-aversary, Megan and Warren!)

All that love for one another is there for you to enjoy in every moment captured by Ryanne Hollies Photography on their wedding day. During the first look, twirling around the dance floor at The Barn 1906, exchanging vows, cutting the cake…the love and joy just beams from their beings.

Lovely Megan (who recently returned from her Hawaii honeymoon) shares how she found her customized gown along with some truly perfect wedding advice below:

How did you choose your gown?

“Initially, I didn’t know what I wanted in a dress. I took my mom and sister to multiple wedding dress shops and found a new favourite at every store. Lea-Ann Belter was the final shop we visited, and I just knew it was the place. I loved the idea of customizing my own dress and having it made to fit me. The quality and feel of the fabric and design were superior to everything else I’d tried on. I could really picture myself wearing the dress at my venue and I didn’t want to take the dress off! My sister said- that’s how you know it’s the one!”

Tell us about your day! Did you have a theme or style in mind?

“We decided to get married at a barn close to where Warren grew up. The rustic and natural beauty of the wood and farm setting helped us decided our theme. We didn’t want anything over the top, more natural and simplistic. With lights already strung in the barn contributing to a romantic vibe, all we needed were mason jars filled with beautiful wild flowers and rustic tree rounds to finish it off.”

What was your first dance song?

“’Say You Won’t Let Go’ by James Arthur—we did a remix with a good beat, so we could have fun with our first dance and get grooving.”

Describe your wedding day in 5 words or less:

“Rustic, natural, simple, elegant, romantic.”

Where did you go on your honeymoon?

“Hawaii—Maui and Kauai. We just got back and had the best time! The islands are absolutely stunning. Beautiful beaches, turquoise water, amazing hikes, views, volcanos and luscious rainforest. We shared some amazing adventures together and had plenty time to just relax, the best combo.”

Any advice for future brides/grooms?

“Do what you suits you and what YOU want! Try not to fall into the rat race of the wedding market. Choose vendors who are genuine and a pleasure to work with as it makes the planning stage and actual day that much more enjoyable. And don’t forget to enjoy yourself! Enjoy the process, remember what’s important.”
