Talk about right place, right time—Christian is from Denmark and Talia is from Peru. What brought them together? Our wonderful city of Toronto, which is where they met…and the chemistry was instant. Said Talia, “It’s crazy, but you know that saying: when you know, you know? It was like that, after three months dating we decided to move in together, and after two months of living together, we decided to get married. Everything happened so fast, but I knew in my gut he was the one!”
Christian proposed in the cutest of ways (more on that from Talia below) and then they set about planning a super fun wedding (with a Viking and Inca-themed reception, guys!) in Lima.
From Talia, who danced to Ed Patrick’s “So Glad” with Christian and later had a push-up contest on the dancefloor with him, too!
How did your sweetie propose?
“Christian is the goofiest; he pretended he had fallen on the ground, when I came to see if he was ok he took out the ring. It all happened in our condo. Very private.”
How did you choose your gown?
“Well, that was a whole experience, I thought I had all the time in the world, my mom was going to come first in June to see dresses with me, I started reaching out to different places to make appointments, and every single reply I got was: JUNE IS WAY TOO LATE! So I asked my mom to come sooner. Every shop we went stressed me out saying that because of the rush everything was going to be more expensive, and I felt very very pressured to make a decision and picking the dress is as important as choosing the groom haha! What I loved about Vanessa is that she was the only one who told me to walk out, sleep on it, think about it that I still had time to decide, that there was no rush. After that, I knew that was the place I was going to get my dress from, and of course, there were so many beautiful dresses to pick from.”
Tell us about your day!
“We exchanged our vows and had our closest friends and family giving testimonials about us, then the party which was Inca and Viking themed. “
Describe your wedding day in 5 words or fewer:
“Memorable, went by so fast, beautiful, fun.”
What was the funniest moment of your day?
“Christian and I started making push-ups in the middle of the dancefloor! I’m very into fitness haha!”
What was your something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue?
“Something new: a bracelet my mom gave me
Something borrowed: a small earing stud
something blue: an ankle string with a turtle”
Three words that best describe your partner (you or both of you can answer!):
“Selfless, caring and smart.”
Where did you go on your honeymoon?
“We’re planning to go to South East Asia for a month in February.”
Any advice for future brides/grooms?
“ENJOY EVERY SINGLE SECOND! Everything is going to happen so fast, and you might be so overwhelmed that you have to stop and think about how everything that is happening is part of the most important day of your life **tears in my eyes right now** ha!”
