Destination Wedding at Villa Magia, Italy | Elaine + Jeff

Wedding on the Amalfi Coast. Doesn’t that just set your heart fluttering?

Elaine and Jeff made that dream a reality and were wed one romantic weekend at the Villa Magia on a terrace overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Elaine shares all about planning their Positano celebration from all the way in California on Style Me Pretty, but, girls, we know you’re wondering about that dress! They’re separates (our Laurel top and Grace skirt, to be exact), which when paired together created the look that spoke to Elaine’s heart.

Our radiant bride dishes on how Jeff proposed, her wedding dress search, and favorite wedding day moment below:

How did Jeff propose?

“Jeff knew I would want a flashy engagement. He also knew I wanted to be somewhere warm and dressed up when it happened. We were in Las Vegas for a trip that was planned with nothing to do with a proposal. As the trip approached, he decided to weave it into the trip.

We had talked about getting married in Italy, so he reached out to the planners at the Bellagio in Las Vegas, to fit the theme. He rented out a private terrace overlooking the fountains, and built out a custom fountain show to be playing right when we arrived. There were flowers everywhere, champagne, and then of course Jeff down on one knee. I mostly just cried the whole time.”

How did you choose your gown?

“I went to 13 different bridal shops. I really wanted a dress that was modern yet classic. It needed to fit our wedding venue, which was a 300-year-old villa on the coast of Italy. When I tried on the silk taffeta…it felt just right. I bought it on the spot.”

What was your favorite wedding day moment?

“The ceremony. Before the wedding, I never would have thought the ceremony would be my favorite part, but it was. Surrounded by the love of our 48 guests. Views on the terrace overlooking the Mediterranean. A light breeze, perfect temperature. And the biggest surprise was that the church bells down the hill started ringing about halfway through and continued throughout. It was magic. It felt like a dream.”
