Ohio Wedding at Rivercrest Farm | Katie + Stephen

Sometimes, the weather on a wedding day is gorgeous; other times, it’s an agent of chaos. Occasionally, it’s both.

Katie and Stephen planned for their colorful, free-spirited celebration to start with an outdoor ceremony and cocktails, with everyone heading indoors for the reception. That way, they’d wed beneath the trees with the grass under their feet and revel in all the pretty surrounding them.

As Katie, her and Stephen’s adorable aisle-ready pups, and her ladies got ready, it began to pour rain. Which was fine—there was a chance it would clear up in time for the ceremony! But then, before things even began…a tornado warning. Everyone was ushered to a safe place to wait while Katie and Stephen skipped their first look and hid out (with their dogs!) in separate places.

An hour later, the storm had passed sans tornado, leaving ankle-deep water, a soaking-wet ceremony site, and beautiful skies. So, everyone headed outside and took their seats, and our delighted couple finally got to exchange vows. Afterward, they took advantage of all that post-stormy weather light and atmosphere and strolled around Rivercrest Farm for photo ops!
