Wintry and jaw-droppingly romantic, we’re betting Kyle and Caitlin’s wedding will inspire snowy ‘I dos’!
Kyle and Caitlin’s journey to Mr. and Mrs. began with an amazing trip to Montenegro. As our sweet bride told us, “Kyle proposed on top of a gorgeous mountain in Kotor, Montenegro! We drove up the steep hillside very early in the morning and walked up a final few steps to a clear, blue sky and an incredible view that you just can’t describe. Before I knew it, he was down on one knee. We then spent the rest of the day touring around the old walls of Kotor and taking it all in. It really couldn’t have been a better day!” (Check out their engagement pictures below! That view is c-r-a-z-y!)
These two stepped onto the dance floor for the first time as husband and wife to “Your Song” by Elton John, then jetted off to Iceland for an unforgettable honeymoon! Read more details about their day and the 411 on her custom Lea-Ann Belter gown from Caitlin:
How did you choose your gown?
“I truly wanted to feel like it was a wedding gown. Other than that—I didn’t really go in with any idea of what I was looking for. It was clear when I put on my dress that this was “the one”! We added some extra flair with some sparkle to the top (great idea, Vanessa!).”
Tell us about your day!
“We got married at the Elora Mill Hotel and Spa in Elora, Ontario. We decided to get married in February so we were looking for a spot that had a warm and winter feel to it. We were so excited when we saw that the indoor space at Elora Mill had a gorgeous wood-burning fireplace as a backdrop for the ceremony. We were sold!
For us, this day was all about being with our friends and family, including having two of our best friends marry us! As a fun little touch, we made jelly as our favours—which had rave reviews! Mostly, we wanted everyone to have fun and enjoy themselves.”
What was the funniest moment of your day?
“My sister, who was also my Maid of Honour, absolutely roasted both Kyle and me in her speech. She beyond hilarious—I didn’t know she had it in her! Everyone in the room was crying.”
What was your something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue?
“Something old and borrowed was my veil which was my sister’s, my earrings were new and my shoes were blue!”
Three words that best describe Kyle:
“My best friend :).”
Where did you go on your honeymoon?
“We left the next day for a week in Iceland. It was fabulous! We were there during some big snowstorms, but the people, scenery, and hotel were beyond incredible.”
Any advice for couples planning their wedding?
“Make sure you take a step back from the chaos and enjoy a moment to yourself!”
