It’s all fun and games until someone falls in love. Case in point, Monica and Nathan’s meet cute. Explains Monica, “Nathan and I actually met on Tinder! I downloaded it because everyone in my dorm was using it just for fun, and they were like you should join in! I wasn’t taking it seriously, we used it as a hot or not game honestly, but I saw Nathan and stopped. We’ve been talking ever since!”
After the most perfect, rainy-day engagement (more on that from Monica below), these two married before their immediate family at Thorncrown Chapel. Their sweet I-dos were followed up by a playful photo session in Eureka Springs, and a party later in Chicago (where they met!) at Delilah’s.
Monica’s hometown is Winston-Salem, so naturally she went to Bellissima to find her dress—and fell for Lourdes. Nathan wanted to find his threads where he’d grown up, too, so he worked with BLVDier in Chicago to create his handsome green suit.

How did you two get engaged?
“Nathan proposed to me in a hotel overlooking the Chicago theater! It was rainy and super lovely, and I’ll probably never forget it because it was a) in the city we met and b) in my favorite weather.”
Tell us about your outfits! How did you choose your gown?
“I really didn’t have an idea of what I wanted going into it, but Monica at Bellissima somehow managed to gather what details were important to me! I tried on my gown and the rest was history! It was super important to me to be able to buy my wedding dress in my hometown. And vice versa for Nathan. His suit was made by a husband and wife team in Chicago who make the most beautiful suits.”
What was the most important aspect for you while planning your wedding?
“I wanted it to be relaxing for our parents. I didn’t want them to have to be stressed on the day of, and we were able to pull it off! Parents will always be stressed about something, but it was nice to see them all enjoy themselves without worrying.”
