Remember Carlee (and Beasley) and her gorgeous bridal portraits? Welcome to the wedding! Carlee met her now-husband Kevin while at the University of North Carolina-Wilmington. After hanging out in the friend zone for a few years, they started dating. Eight years later, Kevin proposed in their living room!
As you can imagine from the vibe in Carlee’s portraits, these two envisioned a timeless, easygoing-but-elegant celebration that (of course!) involved Beasley. Shares Carlee, “We knew we wanted an intimate wedding that revolved around spending time with our closest friends and family, which landed us at the beautiful Crane Cottage where all our guests could stay on site and enjoy quality time together. Our design aesthetic comes from my love of French culture and our joint love of hosting outdoor dinner parties with beautiful tablescapes and shared meals. We love the intimate, romantic feel of a family-style meal at a long table in the garden. We got married in the Sunken Garden at Crane Cottage, and our cocktail hour on the Reflection Lawn under old oaks with Spanish moss, overlooking the waterway. We had dinner at long tables in Crane Cottage’s courtyard and finished the evening dancing out front.“
When she walked down the aisle, Carlee’s wedding day ensemble was just as personal and thoughtful as the rest of her day. She paired her Cressida gown with a vintage crown she found antiquing in Paris (and wore on her 21st birthday!) and a veil with satin trim. To that loveliness, she added the earrings her dad gave her mom on their first Christmas together, a delicate emerald necklace her grandparents gifted her on her 30th birthday, and a blue handkerchief from her great-grandmother! Oh, and she also had an Italian coin in her shoe for luck that her mom wore when she married her father.
As you peruse all the pretty below, we feel we must mention Carlee and her mom made those charming escort cards!
