Winsome Wedding at Chateau de la Redorte | Ingrid + Harry

No matter where you’re married, it’s a wonderful, magical day.

But, honestly, the south of France is right up there in the Most Dreamy Wedding Locations category.

Chock-full of old world charm and warmth, Ingrid and Harry’s storybook beginning as Mr. and Mrs. took place at the Chateau de la Redorte in La Redorte, France. The chateau and grounds were, of course, beautiful, but when you peek at their pictures, you’ll quickly (almost) forget about the incredible place and instead be taken by the love. There is pure joy going on in those smiles, guys, and it’ll give you all the romantic feels. As will knowing that Ingrid and Harry learned how to ballroom dance together while at university, so their first dance together was a waltz in the chateau’s straight-out-of-a-fairy-tale ballroom.

Find out all about their celebration from Ingrid:

How did Harry propose?

“Harry proposed to me on a skiing trip in the Austrian Tyrol. It was a gorgeous sunny day and we had views of the mountains all around.”

How did you choose your gown?

“I first went dress shopping with my mother, Harry’s mother and his aunt. We were on holiday and found a dress shop that sold Lea-Ann Belter. I tried on a number of dresses and fell in love with the elegant lines and lovely light fabric and Alencon lace. When we next visited my parents, I found a bridal shop nearby that stocked Lea-Ann Belter: Brides by the Falls in Chagrin Falls, Ohio. Jennifer, the shop owner, was wonderful and helped me try on a number of dresses until I found ‘the one.’”

What was your first dance song?

“Harry and I learned to ballroom dance together while at university, so we really wanted our first dance to be a waltz. We chose Moon River and enjoyed practicing our dance moves again leading up to the big day.”

Describe your wedding day in 5 words or less:

“French, Sun, Food, Wine, Friends & Family (sorry – 6!)”

What was your something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue?

“Something old: my rings – my engagement ring was my Great Grandmother’s (mother’s side) and my other ring was my Grandmother’s (father’s side), Something new: my dress, Something borrowed: pearl necklace borrowed from my mother, Something blue: handkerchief with blue flowers bought by my aunt that I kept in the pocket of my dress.”

Where did you go on your honeymoon?

“We took two small trips: one to Epernay in France to taste Champagne and a second to hike part of the Tour de Mont Blanc (walking through France and Italy).”
