Finding the love of your life down the street is a thing—just ask Carolyn and Jeff! These two were neighbors while they both went to Texas A&M. Their sweet journey together was one Jeff wove into his proposal. Shares Carolyn, “Jeff planned a really sweet, thought-out engagement that took me down memory lane. There were four total stops along the way that I went to, and each was special to us (such as where our first date was or where he told me he loved me). And, at each spot, there were people who were special to me (high school friends, college friends, family, and then him at the last spot)! It was such a special day!”
Their wedding at Milestone Mansion was positively overflowing with summer florals and love. In addition to celebrating their marriage, they celebrated that of their parents. Explains Carolyn, “My mom had the idea to have a family wedding display grid that showed pictures of both sides of parents/grandparents on their wedding day. We also had my mom’s and Jeff’s mom’s wedding dress on display. Both of our parents and each set of our grandparents have been/were together for their entire lives and set such an incredible example of a committed marriage to us, so I wanted to incorporate them into our day.”

Tell us about your outfits! How did you choose your gown?
“When I tried on my gown, I immediately knew it was the one! It was only maybe the 5th or 6th I tried on, but I absolutely loved it and my mom, mother-in-law, matron and maid of honor all lit up as soon as I stepped out of the dressing room, and I couldn’t stop smiling either, so I knew that was it!”
Why did you decide to get married where you did?
“We fell in love with the Milestone when we visited, because of its elegant atmosphere and beautiful land surrounding it! “
What part of your wedding day was/is most important to you?
“The most important part of our day was that everyone attending felt loved and knew that they have impacted our lives and relationship, whether they realized it or not. We wanted all of the people who were important to us to have the opportunity to be all together to celebrate but also to be able to witness our commitment to each other, because they will all continue to play important roles in our lives.”
Where did you go on your honeymoon?
“We went to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic!”
Any tips for couples getting married?
“Have FUN on the wedding day. Things will go wrong, and that’s okay. In the end, you will be married regardless, and in the end the most special part of the day is celebrating with the love of your life and all the people closest to you, not how all the flowers/decor turned out.”
