Alabama Wedding at Oak Meadow | Gabbi + Jack

Married in December at Christmastime, Gabbi and Jack leaned into their joy in one another, the season, and the prettiest palette of wintry pastels!

These two met when they were camp counselors and knew in that instant they’d met their match. Shares Gabbi, “Jack says that, he knew from the second he laid eyes on me that I was going to be his wife.  After our first time working together, I ran back to my cabin and told one of my camp friends, “I think I just met my husband.” Neither of us ever believed in love at first sight and it does still sound so silly but it’s just like we knew.”

When planning their celebration, Gabbi and Jack made sure to make their mutual faith central. “The day was a dream come true in so many ways! It was everything we envisioned it would be. Our main priorities were intentionality, peacefulness, and that guests would get to hear the gospel.”

More about their December wedding (and how Gabbi found her Rosebud dress) from our sweet bride:

How did the two of you meet?

“We met at Kanakuk Kamps while serving as camp counselors. We were both assigned the same activity one day and clicked instantly!  Jack said that, he knew from the second he laid eyes on me that I was going to be his wife.  After our first time working together, I ran back to my cabin and told one of my camp friends, “I think I just met my husband.” Neither of us ever believed in love at first sight and it does still sound so silly but it’s just like we knew. Of course, every moment after that furthered my belief that Jack was going to be my husband one day and vice versa. Our personalities, beliefs, and motivations are beautifully aligned! We did long distance (10 hr drive!) until I moved up to Fayetteville to be closer to Jack and start graduate school. Our relationship is a testament to the Lord’s faithfulness and His hand over our life!”

What is your favorite thing about each other?

Gabbi: “My favorite thing about Jack is how patient and slow to anger he is!”

Jack: “My favorite thing about Gabbi is how much compassion she has for others. Her heart is so kind.”

Tell us about your outfits! How did you choose your gown?

“I found my gown at Lady In Lace in Tuscaloosa! I’ve known some of the people who work there since elementary school, and they actually had this dress picked out for me before I even went—which of course I didn’t know until after! It was the third dress I tried on and I absolutely fell in love with the detailing. I had always envisioned my dress being poofy and having a bow, so everyone worked together to make that vision become reality!”

Tell us about your day!

“The day was a dream come true in so many ways! It was everything we envisioned it would be. Our main priorities were intentionality, peacefulness, and that guests would get to hear the gospel. Our favorite moment had to be our first look with each other before the ceremony. It was sweet to spend one-on-one time together before the day got crazy and we got to pray over our future, our guests, and our marriage! The other favorite moment was when we did a private communion while two of my bridesmaids were singing a worship song. The Holy Spirit was so present in that space!”
