Classic Fall Wedding In Upstate NY | Hannah + Jimmy

An online match provided an introduction of sorts for Hannah and Jimmy, but both were so busy that six months passed until they each responded. When they did finally meet, the connection was instant.

Apple Orchard Proposal + A Fall Wedding

The air was crisp and the sun warm when Jimmy and Hannah set out for a day spent picking apples. They’d been together a while, and Hannah had a feeling the afternoon might be a big one! “Jimmy brought me to my favorite apple orchard, we walked around, picked apples, had a nice lunch at the cider barn, but still no ring! He then took me to a beautiful botanical garden and proposed there with both of our siblings there to help take photos.”

Together, they chose November as their wedding month and began planning a timeless and fun celebration in Albany, NY, at Glen Sanders Mansion.

Hannah's Search for a Classic Wedding Dress

When she began searching for her gown, Hannah knew for sure she wanted an elegant wedding dress. And at Something Bleu in Saratoga Springs, she met her match:

“I began dress shopping thinking I wanted a very classic elegant dress, which was part of the reason I love LAB so much. I tried on the Leonie dress and the sweetheart neckline and corset were so fitting on me. I also tried the Violeta and once I saw and felt the lace tulle, I couldn’t not have that. My attendant at the shop suggested that we put the Violeta skirt over the top of the Leonie dress I had on, and my dress was born! I also loved the opportunity to use the Leonie bow to bustle the dress for the reception. I loved my dress too much to switch out of it later in the evening, but Jimmy found the perfect Cabernet jacket that matched my bridesmaids. It was something a little fun and different.”

Hannah + Jimmy’s Upstate NY Wedding Story

How did the two of you meet?

“We first matched online, but we both delayed responding to each other due to timing of what was going on in life. We met 6 months later in person at a young adult Catholic group and started dating quickly after.”

What is your favorite thing about each other?

Jimmy about Hannah: “If I have to pick one thing because obviously there is a lot—I would say my favorite thing about you is the way you are so thoughtful/giving/kind to everyone!”

Hannah about Jimmy: “His communication and patience with me. He is so good at observing how I am feeling and helping us communicate through decisions and emotions. He is also always helping me get my ambitious ideas completed.”

Tell us about your wedding day!

“Everything went so smoothly! We got married at Hannah’s hometown parish. She grew up going there and the priest was part of her sacraments growing up. We were really grateful for all of the family and friends that traveled for the wedding and decided to write notes to each of the guests to use also as the seating chart. It was a great way to remember old memories with guests and thank them for all they have done to help support us until we got to this day.”

What was the funniest moment of your day?

“On the altar while exchanging vows, I started to get a bit sniffly and used my handkerchief to blot away some tears. Apparently, Jimmy thought one hanky wasn’t enough and I might need a second hanky so he offered me his as well, which the guests got a kick out of.”

Where did you go on your honeymoon?

“Hawaii, we went to Maui and Kauai. Our favorite part for both of us was the snorkeling. We loved swimming with the massive sea turtles and all the beautiful colorful fish.”

Any tips for couples getting married?

“Do as much as you can early, it makes the last two weeks before the wedding much more relaxing and enjoyable!”
