Custom Gown in a Rochester Wedding at the Highline | Jenna + Kyle

Laughter is the special sauce that brought Jenna and Kyle together. During the summer, Kyle worked for Jenna’s parents’ construction company, and sometimes he’d help at the house. Though he was always around, Jenna hadn’t spoken to him. That all changed one day, and they never looked back. “The first time I did, I realized instantly how amazing he was. I could not stop laughing. He was so funny. I feel like from that moment on I was hooked and knew he would always be a part of my life.”

From Skaneateles To Toronto

Romance, of course, played a role in their story too. One December evening, Kyle proposed on the shores of Skaneateles Lake, and surprised Jenna with a just-engaged dinner party with her nearest and dearest.
With everything else falling into place, Jenna hoped finding the right dress would, be too. She’d gone into it with an open mind, but nonetheless, nothing she tried felt right. That’s when her mom came to the rescue. She’d come across Lea-Ann Belter Bridal online, and noticed that our flagship Toronto bridal shop was a mere three hours away. So, they made an appointment, and Jenna met her match in a sleek wedding dress.

“Vanessa was absolutely amazing to work with and helped me create my gown to be exactly what I was looking for and more.” Jenna’s custom gown took its silhouette cues from Lea-Ann Belter Piper, a form-fitting silk crepe gown with a plunging camisole bodice. From there, Vanessa adjusted elements to make it perfect for Jenna. “Vanessa was able to bring to life every single detail I was looking for, from the buttons down the back to the pearl straps and even was able to create a removable cowl back for me.” Most importantly, Jenna was over the moon when her gown was ready! “I felt the most beautiful I have ever felt in my dress.”

How did the two of you meet?

Kyle and I met because he worked for my parents! They own a construction company and he would help out in the summers around our house and around the site.

When did you realize Kyle was your person?

Kyle was always around working, but I had never really spent time with him. The first time I did I realized instantly how amazing he was. I could not stop laughing. He was so funny. I feel like from that moment on I was hooked and knew he would always be a part of my life.

Could you share your engagement story?

We went out to Skaneateles Lake in December 2024 and he proposed by the water. He surprised me with all my closest family and friends waiting for us at a restaurant afterwards. It was so special to celebrate with everyone.

Tell us about finding your gown!

My mom found Lea-Ann Belter online after I was having a hard time finding exactly what I was looking for. I went into dress shopping with no expectations and quickly discovered what I was looking for, but couldn’t find it. Vanessa was absolutely amazing to work with and helped me create my gown to be exactly what I was looking for and more. She was able to bring to life every single detail I was looking for from the buttons down the back to the pearl straps and even was able to create a removable cowl back for me. It was truly amazing and I felt the most beautiful I have ever felt in my dress.

What feeling or atmosphere did you want to create?

I wanted my wedding to be timeless, fun and full of love. Kyle and I are both very fun-loving and laid-back people, and I wanted this to be felt throughout our day. I wanted people to have fun and be able to relax and just enjoy their time drinking, eating good food and being around each other.

Any advice for couples currently planning their wedding?

Your wedding is about you two! Don’t get distracted by all the opinions and noise around you. The day is about choosing each other and being happy. Do what YOU want to do and make special memories!! Try to take in every moment and be present- the day seriously does fly by.
