Pennsylvania Wedding at Linwood Estate | Alexandra + Chance

A match made on Bumble, Alex and Chance’s romance started with a first date involving onesies and the film March of the Penguins. The date idea had been intended to be a throw-away, but Alex ran with it! Shares Alex, “Potentially risking life and limb to meet a stranger off the internet, I went over to Chance’s apartment to watch March of the Penguins in onesies. We quickly discovered a variety of overlapping interests, each other’s hidden dorkiness, and a mutual love of dogs. Sparks flew! At the end of the date, Chance suggested going on a proper date without onesies. I agreed, and the rest is history!”

That playful, embrace-who-you-are vibe defines their relationship. In fact, Alex says that being together has taught them both to “accept ourselves as we are and not take life too seriously.”

When searching for the gown in which she’d marry her best friend, Alex visited Jessica Haley Bridal. “I went dress shopping knowing I would likely get a strapless A-line but was expecting to get something lacy.  When I tried on the simple Dinah gown, I loved how it made all of my features pop! Dinah was the second dress I tried on and it brought me to tears.  I didn’t buy it that day because I felt like I needed to try on more dresses but went back the next day to buy it when I couldn’t get it out of my head.“

Chance and Alex’s Pennsylvania wedding at the Linwood Estate was a total reflection of themselves and their relationship! Since Alex’s favorite color is teal and Chance’s purple, both hues were woven throughout their day. Their friend Brandy married them, and Alex and Chance wrote their own vows, which included a Dr. Who quote in a nod to their shared love of sci-fi/fantasy.  Shares Alex, “We also incorporated our humor throughout, creating a playlist for cocktail hour that featured folk covers of pop songs to confuse guests and ending the night with “Goodbye” by Bo Burnham as our last song.” Alex continued, “We incorporated dinosaurs throughout, from walking down the aisle to a custom piano cover of Jurassic Park to entering our reception to Walk the Dinosaur, custom t-rex cake toppers Chance made out of clay, and a Bee-rex we had out at our reception!”

In lieu of a guest book, friends and family could sign their names on bottles of wine the newlyweds will drink for their 1st, 5th, 10th, 15th, 20th, and 25th wedding anniversaries.

Chance built their photo wall from scratch, and their photobooth props included photos of their dogs, who were again featured on the bags at their late-night popcorn bar. Chance used to ballroom dance (that’s how he met his best man!), so they had a choreographed first dance.

Now married, Alex and Chance plan to jet off to New Zealand to enjoy the outdoors and lots of hiking!
