Connected through Tinder, Ariella and Lucas talked for a couple months before meeting in person. And when they did, Ariella got butterflies. It’s safe to say Lucas felt the same way. As their relationship deepened, their natural connection and the way everything just felt right made the next step inevitable.
They chose the elegant Harding Waterfront Estate for their day, and Ariella began searching for a classic, timeless wedding dress that spoke to her.
A Breath of Fresh Air
But Ariella’s dress quest proved more challenging than she’d expected. “Before coming to Lea-Ann Belter, nothing spoke to me and there was just something always off with the other dresses that I tried on.” When she made her way to our flagship Toronto bridal shop, everything changed. “Being able to work with Vanessa was a breath of fresh air. Not only did I have the whole store to myself, but she took the time to understand the vision that I wanted and help me make that come to life.” Then, when she slipped on our Revel gown, she met her match. “Putting on the dress, I felt classic and timeless but still myself.”
A Day Full of Love
When did you realize Lucas was special in your life?
He gave me butterflies right from the beginning but just the fact that he was such a calming presence in my life and the ease that we could laugh with each other was amazing.
Could you share your engagement story?
For a day out, he suggested we go to high park which is where we had our second date. I fully thought that he was going to propose at hug park so I dressed in a semi-cute fashion. We ended up walking in the forested area and walking around the whole park. We even sat down at the lake for a bit of a rest and watched the ducks and geese. After walking around for the afternoon, we went home, which was an adventure because the ttc was having repairs and we had to take a shuttle bus home part of the way. That commute home was hot and crowded, in my mind I did not think anything was happening. We get home and sit outside on our balcony, Lucas starts talking about the couple of weddings that we had been to that year already and that’s when he holds out the ring to propose.
The whole day honestly captured us as a couple and was the perfect way for him to propose to me.

For my dress, I was really happy that I decided to wear my mom’s veil it was a special part of the day. As well as wearing jewellery from important women in my life.
For our wedding, we did a generations of love table which celebrated all the marriages of our parents and grandparents. It was something to commemorate that wonderful relationships that we have to look up to for our future together.
