Texas Wedding at Bella Cavalli | Josey + Micah

After stumbling across each other on a dating app, Josey and Micah each knew pretty quickly they’d met their match. Josey knew she’d found someone special when she realized that “I was able to be my weird self around Micah and he never judged me. Also, when I saw how important his family was to him. He calls his family every day!”

Animals—in particular their two pups, Chase and Nova—are super important to both of them. So, when they visited Bella Cavalli, Josey and Micah knew it was the place. “We decided to get married there mostly because of the animals and it’s a STUNNING venue. They have horses, a few Great Pyrenees, camels, etc. I got the chills when we were touring the venue and viewed the ceremony location in the woods. It was so easy to envision the horse drawn carriage and the grand entrance I’ve always dreamed of. We toured a few other venues before Bella Cavalli that were more geared to my personality or Micah’s. Bella Cavalli was “us”— It was a mixture of our personalities and he things we both envisioned for our special day.”

When it came to her wedding gown, Josey headed straight to the Bridal Boutique of Lewisville (where she now works!). She knew the custom gown she chose was the one. Says Josey, “It had everything I was looking for. I wanted a classic, timeless dress with a twist! The feeling I had when I put it on was indescribable. I knew that not only did I LOVE the dress, but it was going to be the one to bring Micah to tears when I walked down the aisle!”

More about their day (including how they incorporated their pups) from our lovely bride below:

How did you two get engaged?

“I told Micah I wanted to get “family photos” with the two of us and our two dogs (Chase and Nova). I showed him a photographer I found, then he told me to reach out to the photographer to book. At the same time, he contacted the photographer to let him know he wanted to propose to me during our pictures! He made me think I planned the photoshoot and the whole day, but he had it all planned with the photographer! The photographer had me spin a few times, and the last time I turned around, Micah was on one knee! It was perfect because our dogs were there, my mom was there helping with the dogs, and Micah’s parents and two of my best friends were hiding, watching the whole thing!”

Are there any special ways you incorporated your family or family history into your wedding day?

“I surprised my stepdad with a “father daughter” dance. Micah and I had our first dance, I danced with my dad, then Micah with his mom. After all of those, the DJ called my stepdad up to dance with me to “My Boy – My Girl Version,” by Elvie Shane.”

Why did you decide to get married where you did?

“We decided to get Married at Bella Cavalli mostly because of the animals and it’s a STUNNING venue. They have horses, a few Great Pyrenees, camels, etc. I got the chills when we were touring the venue and viewed the ceremony location in the woods. It was so easy to envision the horse drawn carriage and the grand entrance I’ve always dreamed of. Tell us about your day!

“We absolutely love our two fur babies, so we incorporated them in a couple of fun ways! We had cups made with their faces and fans for the reception!

We also did a prayer with our bridal party while “The Blessing” by Elevation worship played in the background. We could feel God’s presence in this moment, and it was such a magical moment.

A few weeks before the wedding, I asked all the bridesmaids and ladies getting ready with us to send me a few songs that reminded them of me or a memory we shared together. I added these to a playlist, and this is what we listened to all day while getting ready!

The horse drawn carriage was amazing. After the ceremony, they took us around the venue on a quick little ride, just me and Micah.”

What was the funniest moment of your day?

“As the carriage came around the corner to the ceremony location, I had the DJ play the NFL theme song! I kept this a surprise to everyone, including Micah. Everyone loved it, especially Micah and his groomsmen! There are some pictures of their reactions (when they’re laughing and when Micah has his arms up in the air with fists) haha!

What part of your wedding day was most important to you?

“We wanted everyone to feel love in the air, and overall enjoy the night. We wanted the day to be a representation of us, our relationship, and the things we love.”
