After meeting at Marquette University, Cecilia and Andrew just knew they had to see more of each other. So, they had mutual friends invite them on a ski trip…and things snowballed from there!
Their Milwaukee wedding was a total reflection of them, but, like it is for many couples, getting there was a journey. Cecilia’s advice is something we hope everyone takes to heart!
“It is easy to compare your wedding to the other weddings going on around you, especially with the widespread use of social media. Anytime you find yourself feeling stressed and/or overwhelmed, remind yourself of why you have chosen to marry your partner. Do not be afraid to ask for help, the people close to you are excited to celebrate you and your spouse. It is both of your day!”
Our sweet bride shares more of their marvelous day below.
How did you two get engaged?
“Andrew surprised me while I was visiting family in New York, and while celebrating the fourth of July at my grandma’s house in Breezy Point, he popped the question. Breezy Point was where I spent my summers growing up, and is a place that holds special memories especially early on in our relationship.”

What was your first dance song?
“Joy of my Life, by Chris Stapleton.”
What was the funniest moment of the day?
“We told our photographer that we really wanted candid moments captured. Andrew and I decided to pop open a bottle of prosecco. We did not realize how much the bottle had bounced throughout the day, and when it popped open it was a fizzy explosion. Andrew was so surprised that he dropped the bottle and it had sprayed everywhere—the photographs captured were hilarious and the photographer shouted, “Hey, you wanted candid.””
What was your something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue?
“My great-grandmother, who is also my namesake, had a sapphire bracelet that covered something old, something borrowed and something blue. It was so special to honor her through this piece of jewelry. My something new was my Lea-Ann Belter custom gown.”
