Romantic Pastel Toronto Wedding | Loreanne + Kelvin

There’s lots to love about our flagship Toronto bridal boutique, but one of our favorites is working with women to create the custom wedding dress of their dreams.

It was 2020, and Loreanne was planning a beautiful wedding at Whistle Bear Golf Club. Of course, it was during the pandemic’s beginnings, and all was uncertain. But after twelve years together—several of them long-distance while Loreanne was in medical school—our romantic bride knew she and Kelvin would marry in June 2021.

So, when Loreanne came into the shop searching for a gown inspired by her mom’s, we were all in! Meanwhile, our creative bride was thrilled, too. She’d be able to design the gown she envisioned. The experience was a wonderful one for not just Loreanne, but for our team here in Toronto.

Shares Loreanne:

“I took inspiration from my mom’s wedding gown, she wore a large ball gown with puffy long laced sleeves—very much the classic Princess Diana dress of the 1980s. In addition, I always envisioned having a wedding gown with intricate detailing.

I started shopping for my wedding gown and was not having any luck finding the one. I found Lea-Ann Belter and was surprised to know you can “customize” your wedding dress, I was really excited about that. I met Vanessa at the flagship store, she was so kind and welcoming, and with that I was already sold.

We began forming my dress in the spring of 2020, figuring out the shape of the dress and the important elements. After that, the flagship team got to work. I ended up moving out of province at the same time, and so on my trips back home to Toronto I would stop by the shop and work with Vanessa on fittings, choosing the lace and fabrics. Lea-Ann Belter Bridal has the most luxurious lace from the finest mills in France and the most beautiful silks.

Designing my dress with the team was such a creative outlet for me and one of my most favourite parts of my wedding planning. In my over one year of creating the dress, I got to know Vanessa and she got to know my family and it was like seeing a friend every time I came into the store. Despite the challenges and restrictions of the pandemic, she still made the whole wedding dress experience very special. On the week of the wedding when it was time to pick up the dress, it felt surreal. Putting on the dress, knowing how much work and love the team at Lea-Ann Belter Bridal put into it, it was an honour to put it on. I will forever treasure the dress and hope to one day pass it on to my daughter.”

While all that designing of the perfect wedding dress was going on, Loreanne and Kelvin were also planning a lovely, pastel summer wedding here in Toronto. For more details from our bride and all the dreamy pictures, peruse the below.

P.S. Since that beautiful June day, Loreanne and Kelvin have welcomed their baby into the world!

Tell us about your day!

“We are Christians and we sought to honour God throughout the ceremony and throughout the day. We were missing many family members who have since passed on, especially my dad and so we played the father-daughter dance from my 18th birthday on the screen while I danced with my mom. Needless to say, there was not a dry eye in the room. We intentionally carved out time in our schedule to just sit and take it all in. The wedding day goes by so fast, and having been together for over 11 years, we just wanted to savour the day.

Our favourite parts of the day were finally saying our vows and enjoying those quiet moments. We enjoyed a mini “first dance” in the hall before the guests came in. We took a short walk in the middle of the reception to enjoy the most beautiful sunset after it rained. We were so grateful to have had this day to celebrate.”
