There are so many lovely wedding traditions, though perhaps among the more familiar is something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue, and a sixpence in your shoe. That custom has its roots in the Victorian era, and each item symbolizes something.
Of those conventions, the idea of something borrowed seems particularly poignant. Originally, the idea was that wearing something leant from a happily married friend or family member bestowed that positive energy on the bride. It also indicated that she could count on her support network to always care for her.

Wedding Dress Magic...with a Little Help
A helping hand was also involved when Macy was trying on wedding dresses at the Bridal Boutique of Lewisville! Halfway into her appointment, she’d tried on about six dresses and nothing was quite right. That’s when her consultant said, “I know exactly what you want,” and went to the racks to get the gown she had in mind. Macy’s mom Lisa told us that when Macy came out in Esperanza, our puffed-sleeve wedding dress, “We all started crying when we saw her in it. It was perfect. She loved everything about it. We added the beautiful bow that was an add on for the dress and it was just the perfect finishing touch.”
In addition to being a fabulous mother of the bride (wait until you see her stunning red dress!), Lisa is also a photographer who captured Macy’s gorgeous bridal portraits below.
