Toronto Wedding at the Pan Pacific | Kayla + Bradley

The right wedding dress will find you! For Kayla, that took a little time. By the time she visited us at our flagship Toronto boutique, she’d tried on several potential gowns, but none of them made her heart skip a beat.

“I tried on 85 wedding dresses. Nothing was working until I found Lea-Ann Belter. When I initially started looking for my dress, I wanted something modern, sleek and minimalistic. I didn’t want lace or a big skirt—boy was I wrong. I ended up saying yes to Violeta with a custom jacket. I can’t put into words how much I loved it. It was so beautiful and classic and made me feel the most beautiful have ever felt in my life. I’m sad that I won’t get to wear it again.”

Kayla and Bradley met via a dating app and quickly formed an attachment, which turned into an engagement on a surprise trip to Banff. They chose the Pan Pacific Hotel in Toronto as the perfect spot to mark the next big step in their relationship. While they planned their day, “We tried to make the wedding as intentional and meaningful as possible. Bradley’s mother Gayla wore her grandmother’s wedding dress that is nearly 90 years old. My little flower girl wore a dress I wore in 1995 when I was a flower girl. I really wanted the wedding to have personality and reflect my feminine style, so the decor included lots of pops of floral prints and pops of blue. We also named all our tables after places in Manitoba that we love, as Bradley and I live in Winnipeg.”

How did the two of you meet?

“We met on a dating app. First, we matched on JSwipe, but I never answered Bradley’s message. Then I saw him again on Tinder and decided to give him a shot. Best decision ever.”

How did you two get engaged?

“We got engaged at Two Jack Lake in Banff in May 2023. Bradley surprised me with the trip. The actual night of the engagement, I thought we were going to meet up with my aunt and uncle, but it was all a ruse. It was truly beautiful and scenic and one of the best days of my life.”

What is your favorite thing about each other?

“My favourite things about Bradley are how smart, funny and kind he is. He is always pushing himself to be a better person and make the world a better place. Bradley said his favourite things about me are how sweet and loving I am.”

What was the funniest moment of your day?

“When the videographer filmed Bradley talking about our first date. Bradley said we went to Starbucks, but that I had already bought a drink when he arrived. However, after further reflection, Bradley realized that he was confusing our first date with another one he went on before he met me. He ended up asking the videographer not to include that.”

What part of your wedding day was most important to you?

“The most important thing to us was the music. We hired the band Soular and they were absolutely incredible. We also had a string trio perform at our ceremony and cocktail hour. Bradley walked down the aisle to ‘Everlong’ by Foo Fighters and I walked down to ‘Bring Him Home’ from Les Miserables. These songs were so meaningful to us and true reflections of our personalities.”

Where did you go on your honeymoon?

“We are going to Hawaii in September.”

Any tips for couples getting married?

“Try to enjoy the process and always remember that the most important part of the day is the fact that you get to marry your soulmate.”
