Super Fun (and Fabulous) Hartford Wedding | Lindsay + Tara

Fireworks. That’s what happened when Tara and Lindsay finally connected. You see, they were both involved with other people (as so often happens) when they met years earlier, but they both felt a chemistry that stayed with them long after that moment. Then, some time later, fate intervened, they crossed paths again, and…boom! Love!

An avid snowboarder, Lindsay was delighted to discover that Tara was one, too. Usually, Lindsay had to teach those she dated how to snowboard, but now she and her sweetie could jet down the slopes together. Plus, Tara’s family had a house in Stratton, VT, just a short distance from Lindsay’s family ski house in Killington. Before long, they were spending every non-working moment together dancing, snowboarding, kayaking, hiking, and hanging out. So, when Tara suggested to Lindsay that they go snowboarding and that their parents and families meet them there, too, she didn’t think too much of it.

At the top of one of Stratton’s ski lifts, there’s a gorgeous ice fall which for years has been a photo op for everyone who comes to the mountain. When Tara and Lindsay arrived there with their friends and family in tow, of course it was suggested they snap a picture. Afterward, instead of putting on her goggles and heading straight down the mountain, Tara reached in her pocket, pulled out a ring and proposed! How cute is this picture of the two of them below?!

That night, everyone headed down to Grizzly’s at Stratton’s base lodge to celebrate, and to the delight of Lindsay and Tara, an amazing 12-piece band was playing. After dancing like crazy, the two found out who the band was, got their information, and their first vendor was decided!

Back home in Connecticut, while touring wedding venues, Lindsay and Tara fell for The Society Room of Hartford, whose grand staircase and grand style made them feel as if they were walking into a scene from The Great Gatsby. To find the right dresses, these two separately visited The Plumed Serpent – this is where Lindsay fell for her Tess wedding gown, to which she added that fabulous belt (which she totally plans to wear again) and hair wreath.

When the day arrived, it was far beyond anything the two imagined – the food was amazing, their custom drink ‘The Griz”‘ (named after that Stratton bar) tasty, the band incredible, the venue spectacular – but it was all the love and support their friends and family brought that took their breath away.

PS – These two honeymooned at what might possibly be the most fabulous, luxurious place ever, Hermitage Bay in Antigua (see a snap of their room’s view at the bottom of this post!).
