Wedding at the Pillar and Post Hotel | Kathryn + David

When shopping for her wedding day outfit, Kathryn had her eye on our Tabatha gown. She’d pictured herself in a gown with long sleeves—something that hinted at Princess Grace. But when she walked into our Toronto flagship bridal boutique, something unexpected caught her eye:

“Living in Toronto, I did a search for local bridal shops and came across Lea-Ann Belter. I contacted Vanessa right away and requested to try the Tabatha gown! Unfortunately, she was on tour at the time, but I made an appointment to come and try on other styles anyway. Naomi was not originally on my list, but she was on a mannequin form in the boutique, and I just could not look away.

The dress had subtle sparkle and incredibly beautiful draping and flow to the skirt; I was smitten. I went in thinking I wanted a long-sleeved tulle dress and came out looking like a shimmery ballerina! I also opted for a topper, to pay homage to my mother’s wedding dress. I had to include some subtle Princess Grace vibes, with the delicate flower pattern. Things could not have come together better!”

Together with her groom, David, Kathryn planned a dreamy, romantic wedding at The Pillar and Post Hotel.

What’s one detail you could not live without?

“My veil—the midi length was perfect! The crystal and pearl edging weighted the veil down the perfect amount and added more glitter to my look!”

What was the funniest moment of the day?

“The funniest moment of the day was probably the cake cutting. David really got me good!”

Any advice for soon-to-be-wed couples?

“Embrace the day. Plan as well as you can ahead of time, be open to being flexible where you can be and remember to push for what you really feel you can’t live without. Also, there are loved ones around you who want to help; let them! David forgot our welcome signs and had to make a 6am call to friends to pick them up for him! I had favours to label and my Maid of Honour came to my rescue and got them done in no time! It’s a day for you but call on your team and they will come through!”
