When Lydia spotted Connor when they were both at Auburn University, she was so smitten that she worked up the courage to ask him to her senior year sorority formal. Life after college took them on separate journeys, but like a river winding its way to the sea, it brought them back together. In time, the two got engaged. Says Lydia, “Connor proposed Labor Day Weekend in 2019. We spent the weekend with my family at Lake Martin and he popped the question down on the dock. I was so thrilled to have my family there, waiting with chilled Prosecco, of course!”
The two planned a romantic Alabama wedding whose classic style sparkled with happy, so-in-love energy!

How did you choose your gown?
“I visited two bridal salons in Madison, AL with my sister, mom, and niece. Our second appointment was at Ivory and Birch where the Sophia gown was displayed in the window. The second I saw it, I knew I was in trouble! I said “this is the one” before the consultant even had it zipped. After my 5-year-old niece gave her stamp of approval, we signed on the dotted line!”

Tell us about your day!
“We were incredibly thankful that the pandemic did not drastically impact our big day at The Barn at Shady Lane in Birmingham, AL. We spent a wonderful evening with 85 close friends and family filled laughter, dancing, and delicious food!”
What was your first dance song?
“‘I Got Away with You’ by Luke Combs.”
Where did you go on your honeymoon?
“Connor and I visited the beautiful island of Saint Lucia for our honeymoon! We had the time of our lives.”
